The bald Barbie would work to help support children suffering from alopecia Areta and cancer.
There are quite a few young girls who suffer from alopecia Areta each year. A bald Barbie will help bring awareness to the issue of alopecia Areta and help children who suffer from alopecia to gain acceptance. It also helps these young children to cope with what’s happening to them.
This could be a good PR move for Mattel who have been recently attacked for promoting an unrealistic body image for young girls. Having a Barbie that helps children to cope with cancer caused hair loss could do wonders for the company PR wise.
The bald Barbie Facebook page has generated over 100,000 likes and thousands of comments for Mattel to create this new beautiful Barbie.
