Hair loss is a natural part of life. It only becomes noticeable when you lose hair faster than it can grow back. In some cases, an illness can cause hair shedding. That’s why if you have sudden hair loss you should consult your doctor and ask them to run a battery of tests to make sure you don’t have any illness that could be causing your hair loss.

Health and Hair Loss

Hair loss could possibly be a reflection of your general health. There are a variety of different illnesses, ailments, physiological or physical reasons why you could be suffering from hair loss. If you find that you are losing hair suddenly this could be an indication of a more serious health condition.

There are also temporary reasons why you could possibly lose hair. Taking birth control pills or having an abortion could cause you short-term hair loss. Other causes of temporary hair loss are diet pills and prescription drugs.

There are also some health conditions that cause permanent hair loss. Hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, lupus could potentially cause you to have permanent hair loss.

Hair Loss and Diet

You must understand how vital a proper diet is to maintaining healthy hair. A good diet can help you deal with other diseases, physiological problems, and stress. When we are under stress our body is depleted of the nutrients we need for healthy hair growth.

You should make sure that vitamin B is included in your diet. This will help stop hair loss that is caused by stress. Free radicals will hurt your overall health as well as hair growth. So getting antioxidants into your body is a good idea.

Everyone deals with stress, it’s just a regular part of life. Having a diet that will help your body to deal with stress will also help you to maintain healthy hair growth.

You should notice hair loss and address it as soon as possible. That’s the best way to deal with hair loss. If you create an actionable plan for dealing with hair loss and carry it out as soon as possible you can get the best possible results. You should talk to your doctor at the first sign of hair loss.

One popular way to deal with hair loss is natural supplements. If you’re looking to maintain healthy hair there are many different supplements that might help you. In most cases, you can find all of the stuff that you need at your local grocery store. Most of those natural hair loss treatments that you see advertised on the Internet are supplements that you can pick up OTC.

You need certain nutrients to maintain healthy hair growth. Calcium, vitamin C, vitamin B, and folic acid are some of the key vitamins and minerals that you need for hair growth.

You should look into the following supplements if you’re having problems maintaining healthy hair. Supplements with essential fatty acids like fish oil, flaxseed oil, and supplements with antioxidants like grapeseed extracts are good for maintaining healthy hair growth. Kelp is also good for getting you the nutrients you need for hair growth.

Saw palmetto is probably the most popular hair loss supplement. You can find it in almost all of the different natural treatments for hair loss being peddled on Internet. You could just go to your grocery store and get the supplement for fairly cheap but, most impulsive buyers aren’t willing to do the 5 to 10 min. of research that would be necessary to figure out.

You should always eat a variety of different foods to get all of the different nutrients you need for healthy hair. You should consider eating some if not all of your vegetables raw so you can get more of the necessary vitamins and minerals for hair growth. Most of those nutrients are lost because of cooking. If you don’t like your vegetables raw try steaming them using a good steamer. That works just as well.

Hair loss is a problem for millions of people across the world. Many people think of hair loss as a male issue, but women suffer from hair loss frequently. So if you have hair loss you really need to figure out what is causing it as soon as possible.

Male pattern baldness is the most common form of hair loss suffered by men. It is a hereditary form of hair loss. There are other factors that could cause hair loss besides genetics. Side effects from medications, hormones, stress and diseases could also be to blame.

So it’s important that you speak with a doctor if you happen to notice a significant amount of hair shedding. Your doctor can run all of the necessary tests to figure out if there is a serious medical condition that could be contributing to your hair loss.

If it is a medical problem the good news is that it can often be corrected relatively easily. After you’ve received a proper treatment, you shouldn’t have any more problems with hair loss.

The period right after birth is a good sample of this. Many women will find that their hair begins to thin after the postpartum period. This is due to an imbalance of hormones which will correct itself in time.

If you experience hair loss because of stress, finding a way to manage your stress effectively can make a big difference.

If you’re suffering from genetic hair loss you have several different options. There are many different treatment options available. One of the most popular treatments is minoxidil. Minoxidil is available in many different forms. Minoxidil is contained in Rogaine, Provillus, and Avacor.

There is a prescription drug called finasteride which works to block DHT. However, it is only for men. Women cannot use Propecia or even handle the tablets. It could potentially cause birth defects in children of women who take it. So you should be careful not to touch or ingests finasteride if you’re a woman.

A quick solution is to simply camouflage the thinning area with a hair thickener solution. There are colored creams and powders that will make your hair look much thicker.

There are a large number of hair loss products out there on the market claiming to deal with hair loss problems. Hair loss is a terrible condition and is very noticeable. That’s the main reason why hair loss products are so popular. One nutrient that has gathered a lot of attention is biotin.

What is Biotin?

Biotin comes from the b-complex of vitamins. It’s also called vitamin H or vitamin B-7. Biotin helps with the synthesis of amino acids and fatty acids. Amino acids help provide the body with protein. You need protein for strong healthy hair. A lack of biotin can cause hair damage and fragile nails.

You get enough biotin in your diet by eating chicken, cauliflower, shellfish, and chicken breast. In some cases, you might want to consider taking silica to help you absorb biotin and other vitamins.

Biotin Deficiency

If you consume a variety of different foods you probably won’t suffer from biotin deficiency. If you are a vegetarian you might need to take supplements but, that shouldn’t be a problem if you eat all of your vegetables raw or steamed.

Brittle nails and hair shedding are probably the most typical sign of biotin deficiency. These types of deficiencies are rare and are usually caused by prescription drug side effects or other health conditions.

Do Foods Containing Biotin Help To Stop Hair Loss?

If your hair loss is caused by a biotin deficiency then consuming more biotin could potentially reverse the problem. You can obtain your dietary supplements online or at your grocery store.

How effective are shampoos with biotin in them?

There isn’t any scientific evidence that biotin in shampoo will help to stop or treat your hair loss. Most B- complex vitamins can’t even be absorbed by the skin. If you suffer from some sort of deficiency you should consider taking an oral supplement.

When it comes to treating hair growth problems, prevention is the key. Hair thinning is typically a result of genetics and is a good predictor of who will lose their hair. Both men and women are affected by premature balding and it can be a devastating experience for both.

Whether you are a man or woman, there is help. Herbal remedies and prescription medications are available to help you with your hair growth problems. Slowing, stopping, and reversing balding are all achievable goals with today’s remedies.

Here are the top four ways to fight hair loss.

1. Scalp Massage

Scalp massage is an effective way to make sure that blood is circulating throughout the scalp. Along with good nutrition and getting more sleep, scalp massages can help your hair follicles get vital nutrients.

You should also use caution when using blow dryers. These can be damaging to the scalp and may accelerate hair thinning. Keep your scalp healthy and free of gels, hair sprays, and other products that can clog your hair follicles. Brush your hair with a natural bristle brush or use a wide toothcomb. Always avoid over brushing your hair.

2.Herbal Supplements

Herbal supplements are an important tool to use when fighting hair growth problems. Herbal supplements can increase your immune system and improve you circulation. This will help increase blood flow to your hair follicles.

Additionally, some herbal remedies will help block the hormone DHT. DHT is believed to be the cause of genetic balding. By blocking DHT, you will lower the risk of hair loss. Herbs that are known to block DHT include, Saw Palmetto, Rosemary, Nettle, Horsetail, and Corn Silk. When choosing herbal remedies, look for these ingredients.

3.Prescription Medication

Not only are there prescription medications prescribed to help fight hair growth problems, some medications are the root cause. New medications may cause hair thinning and should be stopped immediately. Speak to your physician or health care provider and ask them to switch it at once.

Prescription medications that are used to treat baldness include Rogaine (Minoxidil) and Propecia (Finasteride). These medications are very effective and have been successful in both men and women. If you are suffering balding, speak with your physician and ask if these medications are a suitable option for you.

4.Laser Combs

Laser combs have been approved by the FDA and offer another choice in the fight against hair thinning. Laser combs give a low dose of laser therapy to the scalp. Treatment consists of using the comb for ten to fifteen minutes per day.

Men have been fighting hair loss since the beginning of time with methods that are at times ridiculous and dangerous. Today’s man has more choices than previous generations, but harsh and unnatural chemicals may not be the first choice for many men. Fortunately, there are several hair loss products that are based on traditional, natural treatments that may be just as effective.

Male pattern baldness is often genetic and/or related to too much dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the follicles of the scalp. This is a specific type of testosterone that is only found in hair follicles. For years, saw palmetto oil has been used to treat prostate problems, and it has been found to have some beneficial effect in blocking the DHT that causes most male hair loss.

A good multivitiman containing B5, folic acid, silica and biotin will help maintain hair health, but be sure to regulate your dosages carefully. Taking in excess of 30mg of zinc daily can cause a copper deficiency, often linked to hair loss. Before supplementing copper, restrict your intake of zinc, as copper can become toxic.

Traditional asian medicine links hair loss to kidney malfunction and often prescribes a kidney tonic to correct male hair loss. Another ancient remedy is aromatherapy and the use of essential oils. A combination of rosemary, thyme, lavender and cedarwood was studied in Scotland and the results were encouraging. The essential oils were mixed with a carrier oil, either almond or grapeseed oil, warmed and then rubbed into the scalp. The treatment was continued with a warm head wrap. Used for several months, the tonic helped over 40% of the study’s participants regrow hair.

Perhaps the easiest natural treatment for male hair loss is a change of diet. Increasing foods rich in iron and silica seems to help strengthen the existing hair and encourage new growth. Consider adding foods rich in silica like potato and cucumber skins, peppers and sprouts.

In today’s overly medicated society, many are hesitant to try another prescription drug. You have a choice not to. Many of the natural hair loss treatments are pleasant and more often than not, have no side effects. You may be pleasantly surprised at the results.

Why did I buy a Pink Flat Iron???

I decided to get the pink version since it’s a limited edition model. I definitely like the way it looks.

It’s got a nice solid pink color and the shape is contoured for easy handling. After a year or so of daily use it still looks brand new.

I’ve had a few of my family members ask me about my flat iron, where I got it from and if it was any good. So I decided to write this quick review so that they could get all this info and pass it on to others.

How well did the Flat Iron work?

Get A Discount When You Buy Through Our Partner

I don’t think I’ll ever use another flat iron, ever. It works great. It makes my hair shiny and silky without damaging my hair and it works fast too. I usually iron my hair before I go into work and this thing had my hair looking great in no time. The first time I used this flat iron I got to work 30 minutes early. That’s never happened before.

It just gave me so much extra time.

It worked well over a year long period without damaging my hair. I was able to continue using the Solia Flat Iron instead of having to replace it like many of my other flat irons. This was the one flat iron that didn’t break or cause severe hair damage.

I get a lot of letters asking about different supplements that you could take. Most of the e-mails that I receive ask me about specific natural treatments. I can tell you right now that you don’t need to buy an expensive supplement package or treatment. You can get all the ingredients you need from your local grocery store.

1. Saw Palmetto

Most of the natural treatments are just a mix of OTC nutrients. The main ingredient in many of them is saw palmetto. Saw palmetto has become a popular hair loss supplement among natural enthusiasts because of it’s potential for reducing DHT.

There was a small trial of 20 participants that showed positive results for saw palmetto. However, the trial is very small and not big enough to give definitive results. Saw palmetto is a popular supplement for prostate health.

It’s popular because of its effects on lowering DHT. DHT has has a negative effect on the prostate health as well as hair growth. Natural practitioners figure that since saw palmetto affects DHT it could potentially help with hair growth.

Propecia started off as a prostate drug (Finasteride or Proscar) and it was later marketed as a hair loss treatment after patients started noticing changes in hair growth as a side effect. Like Propecia, saw palmetto helps to reduce the amount of DHT in the body.

Saw palmetto might work in the same way as Propecia but, it might not be as powerful. Propecia is a concentrated drug.

You should also take into consideration saw palmetto does have side effects. Pregnant women aren’t allowed to even touch the stuff because of what it can do to unborn children. In a few cases, saw palmetto has caused difficulty urinating, prostate swelling, hemorrhages, and blood in the urine.

2. Nettle Root

Nettle root is another supplement that’s very popular. It’s included in many hair loss supplements because it supposedly helps to block 5-Alpha-Reductase. Five Alpha reductase converts into DHT causing hair loss. Some consider nettle root to be a stronger DHT blocker than saw palmetto.

Just be careful if you’re taking prescription drugs or you have a significant health condition. Nettle root could interact negatively with a drug that you are taking.

3. Dong Quai

Dong Quai is another supposed blocker of DHT. It has phytoestrogens which help to stop testosterone from being converted into DHT. If all you took was nettle root and Dong Quai you’d have a hair loss supplement regimen that’s more powerful than most of the natural hair loss treatments on the market.

Your hair is an important part of your overall. If you have hair loss then the following tips might help you.

1. Try a special shampoo.

The normal amount of hair loss is between 50 and 100 hairs per day. Hair loss only becomes noticeable when your hair grows back slower than it is lost. You might want to consider trying a keratin shampoo. Keratin can help to improve the condition of your hair and scalp, and it could also help to prevent further hair loss.

2. Get plenty of vitamins and minerals.

There are no clinical trials proving that vitamins will help to stop male pattern baldness. However, if you happen to have a nutritional deficiency that’s causing your hair loss vitamins might be the only way to correct it.

3. Massaging your scalp.

You could help to stimulate blood circulation by massaging the scalp. This can help to strengthen and improve the condition of your hair. 15 to 20 min. massage could help you deal with stress as well as give you healthier hair.

4. Try a Ginger rinse.

Slice a few pieces of ginger and add it to a pot. Warm the water until it’s a little lukewarm and use that water to rinse the hair. This will help to stimulate blood flow, give you healthier hair, and help you deal with hair loss.

5. Drink Cucumber juice.

Cucumber juice contains a mineral called silica which helps with the absorption of other vitamins and minerals. This will help you deal with any nutritional deficiencies that might be causing you hair loss. You only need to drink about 8 ounces per day.

6. Try Aloe Vera.

You can apply aloe vera to your hair and leave it on for about 20 min. It helps to balance the pH levels of your hair and scalp.

Even though most hair loss treatments aren’t dangerous and don’t cause severe side effects some people are often bothered by the side effects that they get from using the drugs. The FDA approved drugs are the most powerful hair loss products on the market but they also tend to cause the most side effects.

How do people deal with those side effects in many cases they use herbal supplements to help them deal with those problems. Here I’m going to deal with erectile and scalp problems specifically.

Tips for dealing with Hair Loss treatment side effects

Use Natural Herbs to deal with decreased libido problems. Mucuna Pruriens seeds contain L-Dopa a known libido enhancer. L-Arginine is a popular natural libido booster for men. Taking 4 grams daily could help to increase libido in males taking prescription hair loss treatments. Maca has been used by people from Peru for hundreds of years as a libido booster botanical. It supposedly alleviates erectile problems and improves libido for men and women

Use Omega 3 rich oils to deal with dry scalp side effects. Both Flax Seed Oil and Evening Primrose Oil deal have essential fatty acids that reduce ichy and flaky scalp. Dandruff is a potential cause of hair loss Notes: I have personally taken Flax Seed Oil and Fish Oil and I tend to get nauseous after a few days of taking either one. Most people don’t get this reaction from Flax seed oil (or Fish Oil) but if you do I suggest a Pharmaceutical Grade Fish Oil. I take a much higher dose of PGFO and I don’t feel sick.
